General Plan Committee

The Town Council of Chino Valley has appointed the General Plan Committee (GPC), and contracted with Dava Hoffman of Dava & Associates Inc. to update the Town's General Plan. To facilitate the update, the 14-member Committee, comprised of citizens, business people, and representatives of specialized institutions, will process information and citizen input throughout the process.
The GPC will meet regularly in open meetings at Town Hall, 202 N Hwy 89, to deliberate on General Plan Element topics, hear presentations and consider responses and input from citizens. The Committee will be assisted by Dava & Associates and Town Development Services staff.
Additionally, public workshops on community assessments, visioning and mid-point progress will be conducted. The GPC will review citizen responses to workshops.
The Committee will study various aspects of the General Plan including Phase I Elements: Land Use/Growth Areas, Circulation/Transportation and Economic Development; and Phase II Elements: Open Space, Environmental Planning/Water Resources and Cost of Development.
As various portions of the new General Plan, including Elements, Goals and Objectives, are drafted, they will be presented to the public at joint briefings with the Council and Planning Commission.
An estimate of 12 to 15 monthly meetings of the GPC is anticipated; all meetings are open to the public and are regularly scheduled at 3:30pm on the 2nd Monday of each month.
