DEADLINE FOR HOME RULE VOTER PAMPHLET ARGUMENTS
On April 12, 2016, the Town Council voted to refer an extension of the Alternative Expenditure Limitation – Home Rule Option to a vote on the August 30, 2016 ballot. Arguments (statements) supporting or opposing the ballot measure may be submitted for publication in the election voter information pamphlet.
Arguments for the voter pamphlet cannot exceed 300 words in length and must contain the original notarized signature of each person sponsoring it. The address and phone number for each signer must be on the argument, but will not be printed in the publicity pamphlet. If the argument is sponsored by an organization, it must be signed by two executive officers of the organization or, if sponsored by a political committee, it must be signed by the committee’s chairman or treasurer. The Town Clerk encourages submitters to submit the text of their argument electronically in addition to the above.
A payment of $80.00 to offset a portion of the printing costs must accompany the submission of each argument. The textual content of the arguments will be printed exactly as submitted, as the Town is not authorized to correct spelling or grammatical errors.
Arguments must be submitted by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, at the Town of Chino Valley Town Clerk’s Office, 202 N. State Route 89, Chino Valley, AZ, 86323. For more information, call the Chino Valley Town Clerk at (928) 636-2646.
