When a position becomes open for external recruitment the Town of Chino Valley Human Resources Department will post the position using various media avenues, such as the Chino Valley Review, Prescott Courier, the Town website and Arizona League website to name a few. When you request a job application you can also view the job description on the Town's website which lists the duties, responsibilities, and education/experience required of the position. You must be certain your application is received in Human Resources by 5:00 p.m. Arizona time on the closing date.

You may obtain an application and job description from the Town website or stop by the Human Resources Department located at 202 N. State Route 89, Chino Valley, AZ 86323. In order for your application to receive the consideration it deserves, it is very important that you fill out the application completely and attach a resume. Do not state "see resume" when asked to describe your responsibilities and experience. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of information you provide on the application itself.

You must call Human Resources at 928-636-2646 and request that your previously submitted application be pulled and submitted for the other positions. It will not automatically be submitted.

You are required to submit a completed Town of Chino Valley employment application along with a current resume to be considered for any position.

After the applications have been screened for the minimum qualifications, they are forwarded to the department with the open position. The hiring department or Human Resources will then contact those applicants they wish to interview.

The steps of the selection process vary depending upon the position. For example, an application screening and selection interview may be all that is required. On the other hand, you may be required to pass a written exam or participate in an oral board examination.

Our objective is to hire the best person for the job, so competition is keen. If you are not successful in getting a job immediately, your application will remain on file for 6 months and you may call to have it submitted for other vacancies that occur. Sometimes, it may be a month or longer between steps in a recruitment process. We know this seems like a long time, but want to evaluate everyone to ensure we find the best fit for the position.

You should know the time and place of your interview. Be sure to have a phone number of the person you are supposed to be in contact with in case you are running late or an emergency occurs and you can't make your interview. Know how long the interview is going to take and understand the position that you are being considered for.
